LAYOUTS
______
On this page, you will find graphical representations of the popular layouts that we fit in our camper conversions.  Each layout has strengths and weaknesses and we will happily discuss which layout will work best for your leisure pursuits.

Day and night configurations are shown here.
2 Seater Side Kitchen
Probably the most common camper van layout available as it optimises travel comfort, storage space and floor space.
up to 5 travelling and 4+1 berth in a VW Transporter or Transit Custom. Maximised storage space and travel comfort.
3 Seater Side Kitchen
If you want a little more elbow room at night or perhaps have to regularly travel with 6 occupants, then you can opt for a wider, 3 seater RIB bed with side kitchen.  Negligible storage space is lost with this option. On a SWB van, the kitchen takes an 'L' shape to accommodate the wider bed.
Gangway Rear Kitchen
If you don't need to travel with as many occupants, a gangway rear kitchen combined with a pull out bed can make a spacious comfortable layout.  Often combined in larger vans with toilet and/or shower facilities, this layout makes the campervan feel a little more homely and less like a minibus.
Bed Over Garage
With a larger van, it is possible to have a permanently fixed bed above a large locker to the rear - sometimes called a garage.  This voluminous locker can accommodate bikes or outdoor gear whilst the fixed double bed means you don't have to compromise on mattress comfort in the way you have to with a dual purpose settee and bed cushions.
Dinette style
A little more traditional, the dinette style layout typically has two facing two for dining which will then convert into a sleeping space.  More suited to larger or long wheel base midi vans, this layout is great for socialising and dining round a table of an evening.
'L' Shaped Lounge
Building your campervan as an 'L' shaped lounge gives a greater impression of space and frees up the limited floor space of a van.  The 'L' shaped settee then readily converts into a double bed for nighttime.  Available with pod style rear or side kitchens, this option is often combined with a toilet or bed over garage configuration in larger vans.
Twin bed layout with rear toilet
This layout consists of 'Neptune' beds each combining with the rotated cab seats to form two single beds.  The Neptune beds can be slid together to form a double bed if required.  A built in toilet means you don't have to rely on campsite facilities or leave the van during the night.  A rear kitchen pod and storage space finishes off the layout with an elavating roof providing plenty of headroom in the 4 seater lounge area.

GOT ANOTHER LAYOUT IN MIND?
The above layouts are just the more popular layouts that we've built at Thistle Rose Leisure, but the number of permutations and variations is almost infinite.

We have spent our careers adapting vehicles to accommodate all sorts of equipment, loads, machinery and of course families!

If you don't see the layout here you want, just give us a call or drop in for a visit, we can usually design something that caters for any requested layout configurations.

We can even design and provide 3D virtual tours of our layouts so you can be confident your camper will 'work' as you expect before even setting foot in it!  Try the virtual reality 3D interior tour below - you don't need a virtual reality headset - just move your phone around or click and move with your mouse.
